Three identifiers that are not interchangeable

Migraciones expediente

  • Identifies a residency application.
  • Is checked through Migraciones.
  • Does not track DNI production or delivery.

RENAPER application ID

  • Appears on the receipt issued for the DNI.
  • Checks document production online.
  • Keep it until the card arrives.

Postal tracking number

  • Is requested by Correo Argentino's DNI form.
  • Tracks the shipment once it enters the postal system.
  • Enter it exactly as shown on the receipt.

Check the DNI application

  1. Find the receipt from the DNI application.
  2. Locate the application ID.
  3. Open Mi trámite de RENAPER.
  4. Enter the ID and read the status.

Track postal delivery

Correo Argentino has a specific DNI tracking form. Postal information may appear only after RENAPER completes production and transfers the card.

Use official websites only. Correo Argentino says it does not request personal details or payments through WhatsApp or SMS links.

Who can receive the card

The holder or another adult over 18 may receive a first DNI for a foreign resident when presenting the application receipt. Keep the receipt for delivery or collection.

If delivery fails

Official guidance describes two postal visits. After that:

  • Province address: the card is sent to the Migraciones office where the process was completed.
  • CABA address: it is sent to the RENAPER office indicated by official guidance.

Confirm the location through an official channel before traveling.

If the number is not recognized

  1. Check that you are using the identifier requested by that screen.
  2. Copy it without added spaces.
  3. Check RENAPER first; postal data may appear later.
  4. Use the official RENAPER channels if the problem continues.

What DNI Check does not do

DNI Check does not query RENAPER or Correo Argentino. It only checks the public status of an open Migraciones residency application. Do not enter a RENAPER ID into the bot.

  • Expecting postal data before production.
  • Visiting an office without confirmation.
